Goa Selarong (Selarong cave)



Selarong cave located in the Hamlet Kembangputihan, District Pajangan, Bantul District, Yogyakarta Province.


Attraction region has beautiful scenery and suitable for use as Camping (Camping Ground).
In the past, the cave was used as the headquarters of Prince Diponegoro guerrilla struggle against Dutch colonialism in the years 1825-1830.



Prince Diponegoro moved to his home in Cave Selarong after Tegalrejo attacked and burned by the Dutch. Selarong cave is located about 14 km north of Yogyakarta and precisely in the district displays at the top of a hill covered with guava trees which are typical of those objects.


Around the cave there Selarong craft center which produces wood sculptures, masks and others. Bantul regency government is developing as an object of the Cave Selarong klengkengnya agrotourism with plants.
